Natrx partnered with CCA NC and NC DMF to deploy a Dry Formed™ artificial reef, custom designed for local conditions, to provide new habitat for fish and other marine life. The joint effort represents a milestone in the use of adaptive infrastructure technology and promises an economic boost for the Beaufort County, NC community.

Improve biological productivity
Establish a reproduction reservoir which can revitalize an entire ecosystem

INSTALLATION OF NATRX EXOFORMS™
PROJECT OUTCOMES
Reef site encompasses 1.8 underwater acres
Reef includes 100 Natrx ExoForms™, each a
3 foot cube weighing 1,850 pounds
ExoForms installed 10 feet apart in rows, with 40 feet between rows, to allow multiple boats to fish the reef without crowding
Structures provide habitat for regionally important fish species such as Striped Bass and Speckled Trout
Fish immediately attracted to the new reef structures indicating rapid adaptation
FISH IMMEDIATELY OBSERVED AT THE NEW REEF
